Nyesome Wike who is the Governor of Rivers states has insisted that it will be the end of the All Progressive Congress (APC) if it looses to the People Democratic Party (PDP) during the Governorship election coming up October 10th in Ondo state.
Wike also revealed the bitterness of the National leader leadership of the APC after the party lost to PDP during the Edo State governorship election last weekend.
The governor stated this at a Live Television Programme in Port Harcourt on Friday.
Wike, in a statement by Paulinus Nsirim, Commissioner for Information and Communications, said the APC would do everything possible not to lose Ondo State to PDP.
He said even as they have lost the election in Edo state, all effort would be made to ensure that APC would not lose in Ondo state or else that would be the end of APC.
In his words, he said;
“It is such pressure that is on INEC and the security agencies now that may lead to their compromising”
“I fear that INEC and the security agencies may succumb. But I pray they resist it and continue to defend democracy.
“In Ondo State, the will of the people are against them and incumbency will not work.”
The Ondo State governorship election is expected to hold on October 10, 2020.
