The drinking of Bleach to treat COVID-19 has been debunked by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control.
The advice came after William Bryan, acting head of the US Department of Homeland Security’s Science and Technology Directorate, presented the results of US government research that indicated Coronavirus appeared to weaken more quickly when exposed to sunlight and heat.
The study also claimed that bleach has the ability to like the virus in saliva or respiratory fluids with five minutes and the presence of isopropyl could kill it even faster.
NCDC took to their official twitter handle and warned Nigerians not to engage in the intake of bleach to treat COVID-19. The agency says ingesting bleach could cause health complication and lead to death.
